East Salem Seventh-day Adventist Church operates an SMS/MMS announcement system. Members and attendees opt in by texting a keyword — JOIN for general church announcements, or a ministry-specific keyword (for example ACTS for Acts Ministry) to receive updates from that specific ministry or group. You can be subscribed to more than one list at a time, and each list is opted into separately.
Message frequency varies depending on which list(s) you're subscribed to and how often that ministry sends updates — there is no fixed schedule. Messages may include event announcements, reminders, and occasionally a picture (MMS).
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. East Salem Church does not charge for these text messages.
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from all lists, or STOP followed by a list's keyword (for example STOP ACTS) to leave just that one list. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT all work the same as STOP. You'll get a one-time confirmation and no further messages for that list. To rejoin later, text the keyword again — we'll always ask you to explicitly confirm before re-adding you, so you're never resubscribed without asking for it.

When you opt in, we collect your first name and phone number, along with which list(s) you've subscribed to — nothing more. This information is used only to send you the announcements you opted into and is never sold, shared, or distributed to third parties. Standard message delivery data (like whether a text was successfully delivered) is used only to keep our sending reliable — for example, to stop texting a number Twilio reports as undeliverable.
Our SMS service is supported by most major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others. Carrier support is not guaranteed for all carriers, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
